Edit: Ewwwww don't put vaseline on your lips. It leaves that sticky and gross feeling. Plus it doesn't even absorb into your lips that wellWhapt is a good lip moisturizer that heals?
Don't buy Chapstick. It temporarily soothes, but it doesn't do much more. Here are some good lip balms:
Sally Hansen Lip Repair, Drugstores, 7.99
This lip stuff is awesome! It heals cracks, moistuirizes, helps dry lips, and gets rid of icky dead skin cells. It makes your lips really smooth.

Carmex, Drugstores, 2.99
I always have Carmex in my purse. If I have any irritation anywhere, on my lips or even my face, I use it. It feels soooo good when you put it on, like when you're really really thirsty and you drink down a bottle of cold, icy water. I love the wierd, minty/cherryish scent.

Burt's Bees Honey Lip Balm, drugstores, 3.00
This stuff is so yummy! The honey taste is really faint, but you still can taste it. It moistuirzes really well and the texture is really soft and it's so smooth; I love this!

burts bees
any chapstick that is infused with mint! :)
Although it doesn't smell amazing or give your lips that shine carmax does wonders on healing lips and keeping them moist. I get really bad chapped lips where they start to peel and carmax is the best type of chapstick I have found.
i like to use vaseline...its moisturizes extremely well. i hate using chap sticks and i swear by vaseline! lips turn out so smooth and soft!
I swear by straight shea butter, it reduces healing time, and is really moisturizing.
