Make Yummy Homemade Lip Gloss

Lip Color Recipes for Sweet Flavors

Silky, Shiny, and Vibrant are three words that can describe a luscious pair of lips smoothed with lip-gloss. Lip-gloss can be a delightful treat for a young girl or for a kiss. Making your own lip-gloss can be fun, exciting and tasty.

I have taken the pleasure of finding some of the most exuberating lip-gloss recipes for ladies that are interested in a lip smacking experience. Discover cool ingredients that you can take right out of your kitchen cabinet. Learn ways to invent your own special lip-gloss flavor favorites.

Note: If any of the ingredients in a recipe causes an allergic reaction than please discontinue use or do not use at all.

Chocolate Lip Gloss

3 tablespoons cocoa butter

4 or 5 chocolate chips

1 capsule vitamin E

Melt all ingredients in a double boiler, and then blend with a spoon until the mixture is very smooth. Put into a container and refrigerate until solid.

Cranberry Lip Gloss

1 tablespoon almond oil

10 fresh cranberries

1 teaspoon honey

1 teaspoon petroleum jelly (optional - for more shine)

Mix all the ingredients and then place them in a microwave or heat-resistant container. Heat in the microwave or a water bath until the mixture just begins to boil (1-2 minutes in the microwave). Stir well and gently mash the berries. Let the mixture stand for at least 5 minutes.

Strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove all pieces of cranberry. Stir and allow to cool completely. When cool, spoon into a clean container.

To use: Spread a small amount onto your lips.

Vanilla Lip Gloss

1 tablespoon grated beeswax

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1/8 teaspoon vitamin E oil

1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract

Place the beeswax, coconut oil and vitamin E oil in an ovenproof container. Heat gently until the wax and oils are melted. Stir in the vanilla extract and mix well. Pour the mixture into a clean container and allow to cool completely before using.

LIP BALM:

Little girls as well as adult women love flavored lip- gloss. It is fun to apply and has a great taste. I especially like the shine. It's great to wear on those days when you don't want to wear makeup, just slap on the lip-gloss and you are off. The different flavors are the best part of the lip-gloss. Another great thing is making your own. Using a flavored lip-gloss kit found on Martha Stewarts ';Good Living'; website you can make it in any flavor you want.

You can combine the many essential oils creating delicious new unique flavors. The kit provides you with 5 bottles of essential oils. They are the essential oils of lime, lemon, tangerine, grapefruit, or peppermint. The kit also includes 12 empty plastic pots, empty plastic tubes, and pots of beeswax.

You can customize a basic recipe with your pot of unscented oil and wax. You will also need to use:

A thin-tipped marker,

Cooking pot and stove,

Measuring spoons,

Paper cup,

Paper towels,

Lipstick

A utility knife.

It is a good idea to begin by hand washing all mixing jars, plastic tubes, and plastic pots. Dry them thoroughly. Set aside two pipettes to measure the essential oil. A pipette, acts like a baster, drawing the oil or lip balm up inside. Use the remaining pipettes to stir the lip balm, and transfer it to the tubes and pots. To get a glossy lip balm, add an extra 1陆-teaspoon of sunflower or safflower oil.

Fill the pot with 1'; of water, and bring to a boil; lower the heat to medium. Combine teaspoons of the beeswax beads and 5 teaspoons sunflower or safflower oil in a mixing jar, and set the jar into the pot; the water should be below the rim of the jar.

Stir the mixture using the pipette; the wax will begin to immediately melt. After it is thoroughly mixed, add the preferred oil one drop at a time. I recommend limiting the total number of 10 drops to prevent an overpowering scent.

You can experiment with the assorted oils provided you wash the pipette with warm water before adding different oils.

How to find tubes:

Find tubes of lipstick in your makeup bag that are almost out. We all have that favorite color that we try to get just one more use out of. Don't throw those tubes away. Even if it's past the point of applying on your lips, save them to make homemade lip gloss. How do u make lip gloss and where can I get the containers?
