How long does it take to wean your lips from using chapstick?

I recently discovered that my lips are addicted to chapstick and will no longer produce their own moisture. So I decided to quit using chapstick cold turkey so that my lips will start producing their own moisture again. It's been 2 weeks now and my lips are still cracking and peeling and in a little bit of discomfort. Has anyone gone through this as well? Should I keep this up, or should I cave in and put some chapstick on? Oh, and also, I've been putting a little bit of Vaseline on before I go to bed at night. Thanks! How long does it take to wean your lips from using chapstick?
Try using burts bees wax lip stuff or blistex spa effects they have a different natural feel that isn't as pore cloging as chapstick. so you might not be as dependant on them and then you can ween off of it fasterHow long does it take to wean your lips from using chapstick?
Use some olive oil
I've gone through it! Your welcome.
Im just like that. I must have chapstick with me at all times and i use it at least 4 times a day. i dont really know what to do. I suppose using it like 3 times a day for a week. and then 2 times a day for a week. and then 1 time a day for a week and then once every other day for a week. and slowly start using it less and less. Thats my best advice. I really dont know because i plan to continue using chapstick forever and ever ... lol
Quit and get vitamin e cream.
I totally feel your pain. I've been there, and I used to apply them every 4 hours. But now I am only still using chapstick before bed. Try not to lick your lips with your saliva or have spicy food. Try to cut it down slowly, not all at once.
your cheating. so i guess if your trying to quit smoking, you get up and have a ';midnight smoke'; that makes it ok. nope didn't think so. ij agms sjoi dgrjuqnpk
I have never heard of this!!! I use Chapstick or a variant there of ALL the time!!! My guess would be to wean yourself off of it instead of going cold turkey- rarely is cold turkey the best way to break yourself of any habit.
If you really want to get ';off'; chapstick you should just grease it with a little moisture cream. But only when it begins to crack again. To avoid getting addicted to moisture cream. This undertaking shouldn't take too long. The body adapts pretty quickly. I wish you the best of luck.
My dad stopped in 3 days, but we live in Colorado, so it's really dry all the time. Good Luck with your endeavor.

  • How can I stop NEEDING chapstick, lip balm, etc.?

Does anyone else have this problem? What did you do to fix it?

Whether I use a lip balm or not, my lips get horribly chapped. Sometimes it seems like the lip balm is working, other times it seems like it's actually causing my lips to be chapped. It's gotten so bad that I keep a jar of vaseline on my computer desk, and periodically through the week I have to scrub the dead skin off my lips to get any relief. I have days were my lips feel great, but most days they feel awful. People that my husband works with on base have even commented on how dry my lips seem. It's driving my crazy. I've used some sort of chapstick since about 6th grade, and I'm now 24 and I have no idea how to stop needing it. I've tried to drink more water, but I'm not sure if I've seen results from that. Has anyone tried vitamin e capsules? Do they work, or do they just start another addiction? Does anyone have any suggestions or tips?

Sorry for rambling on, but I'm at such a loss for what to do....How can I stop NEEDING chapstick, lip balm, etc.?
use shea butter or palm oil. look up ';alaffia';. they have good products. that will actually moisturize your lips. most oils can only sit on top of the skin. palm oil and shea butter will penetrate and moisturize the skin. you can get that product at whole foods. do not use anything with peppermint oil or methyl- since this dries out your lips. and avoid weird sounding ingredients in general, in addition to petrolatum/ lanolin/ mineral oil.How can I stop NEEDING chapstick, lip balm, etc.?
drnk plenty of water and have you tried vaseline. it is really good for chapped lips and dry skin. the iventor used to burn and cut his self and he would use vasaline to treat it and he would be left scar free. if it can do that i am sure it can un-chap your lips.
lots and lots of water. people say using Kiehl's #1 lip balm helps lots too. don't think you can get addicted o vitamins. it is good to add that to your diet though
    Take a daily vitamin.

    Drink lots of water.

    Pray.
    what about vaseline or lipgloss

Whats the diff. Lip balm & chapstick?

Whats the difference?Whats the diff. Lip balm %26amp; chapstick?
chapstick is a brand name, like bandaid.Whats the diff. Lip balm %26amp; chapstick?
chapstick is usually encased in a cylindrical container while lib balm is most commonly stored in a ';little pot'; -like container
These may be brand names, but lip care products fall into two basic categories. There are moisturizers which soak into your skin like a hand lotion and there are protectants which create a waxy protective layer that keeps wind and sun from drying away the moisture you already have.
Chapstick is a brand name for a lip balm they make. Lip balms %26amp; Chapstick do the same job. Just read the labels before you buy. Some are plain, others medicated, some with a hint of color, %26amp; different flavors.
chapstick is just a brand name, derrrr
its all the same thing baby
chapstick had medication in it which heals dry lips, protects from the sun. etc. lip balm tastes good and makes ur lips soft. chapstick is medicated lip balm
they r the same, jst different names
vhapstick is just a brand name otherwise its a lip balm i thimk lip balms sorta british and chapstick is more american (in the ways of saying it)

    xxXxx
i always thought lip balm gave your lips some color and lip balm has i think flavor that makes you wanna lick your lips which is bad. if your deciding between which you should get, it's chapstick...
Chapstick is a name brand. Lip balm is any product you put on your lips to do the same thing as Chapstick.
Chapstick is a brand of lip balm. Lip balm is the product itself, sold by many popular brands- Carmex, Chapstick and Palmer's are just some.
chapstick it helps your lips and lip balm just makes your lips pretty
don't know but Burt's Bees is the best!

oh yeah - chapstick is a brand name, kinda like ';kleenex'; is brandname for tissue.
Well lip balm will dry out faster and is meant for color and shine. Chap stick is for when you want to get rid of chapped lips. If you want long lasting shine and chapped lips help grab some lip-use bees wax. The one with a picture of a man with a bee-catching hat is the best one.
chap stick is more for chapped lips, lip gloss makes your lips shiny and they smell better =]
Chap stick has been around longer
both are bad for your lips.

    Lip Balm/Chapstick?

Whats the best lip balm/chapstick to buy? My lips are really chapped and I want something that will clear it up fast!! Thanks!Lip Balm/Chapstick?
Aquaphor is made specifically for severely chapped lips. You can buy it almost everywhere (Walmart, Target, CVS). If you don't like that type of lip ointment, Burts Bees is great for lips as well. It feels cool and minty on your lips!Lip Balm/Chapstick?
ermmmm...palmers cocoa butter balm is good, nivea is good, if you're in england i think theres 1 called smackers or something+ i think there is one urban decay one that cools ur lips or somethin + it helps chapped lips
Try puritycosmetics,co,uk. It is really good!
Those little tins of Vaseline for the lips, simple but it always works.
I get smackers Dr. Pepper because of the little red tint that it gives my lips.
for me when my lips are chaped i use Buckleys Whit Rub it kinda hurts a bit but it gets rid of it really well and ur good

    it allways works :)

Is it true that using chapstick/lip balm makes your lips stop producing it's own oils?

I have been a ';chapstick addict'; since I began using chapstick back in my teens. I am now 36 and don't go ANYWHERE without lip balm. If I do, my lips get very dry and flakey. I cannot wear lipstick anymore because of this! I have heard that using these lip balms is the root of the evil..could it be true? If so, how do I stop now!? I drink LOTS of water, so I don't believe in the ('you need to drink more water') reply. I currently use Mela's Vanilla lip balm and while I love it, the moment I don't use it, my lips are all dry again. It does have a petroleum base, like chapstick brand. Could that be the problem? Or is it just the use of lip balms altogether? Advice anyone? Is it true that using chapstick/lip balm makes your lips stop producing it's own oils?
These products do something bad as everyone who uses them constantly has the same problem. They either over moisturize or do something else and once you stop yes your lips do dry out badly. It'll take at least a week to get them repaired if not longer after non use of the balm.

I have only used these things once and even that experience was not the best. It helped with the dryness when needed but afterwards I noticed they were too dry. So I don't use these and I have no problems with natural moisture of lips.Is it true that using chapstick/lip balm makes your lips stop producing it's own oils?
I highly doubt chapstick will make your lips stop producing oil since they have no pores to secrete it from. Your lips are supposed to be natually protected by saliva. You really just need chapstick when youre in the sun (and your lips dry out constantly) or when youre sleeping (when saliva production slows down by alot). Try licking your lips every now and then and see if it works.
i dont think it dries out your lips. Maybe you just naturally have dry lips. I've been using chapstick for years, but it's not like horrible when i don't use it
i know its bad if u use it that often

u should try not using it for three days and then go back to lip balm. do that at least twice a month.

    trust me, im a doctor
yes its true..but only with synthetic ones. you become dependant on them (especially lip balms with mineral oil in it) and it inhibits your body's own moisturizing ablities. so use a natural oil like coconut oil or beeswax or shea butter
lips dont produce oil. Rub you lips with extra virgin olive oil. they will be so soft

Can you use lip gloss as chapstick?

No,you can't.This is because most lip glosses are not medicated.

You should try Blistex's Lip Infusion. It's a roll on gloss-type that will work like Blistex, yet shine like gloss.

http://www.blistex.com/moisture%20infusi鈥?/a>Can you use lip gloss as chapstick?
no, the 2 things r completly different. plus if u try to wear lipgloss a lot in the summer it actually makes ur lips drier and look nastyCan you use lip gloss as chapstick?
Unless it has medicinal benefits, no.
    not rly

they make your lips look moisturizd but indeed theyre not doing anything for your lips

    The Perfect Lip balm/ Chapstick?

Every day I wake up, the second I smile... my lips go crackkk. And i'm stuck with split lips for the day.

I'm a self confessed lip balm addict. I've tried all the regular balms such as, chapstick, blistex, carmex, burts bees, softlips etc.

But none of them are quite right, i'm looking for something with the texture of burts bees, but not the annoying tinglyness.

Has anyone tried Burts Bees Honey Lipbalm? Is that still as tingly? Is it worth a go?

Any suggestions appreciated! The Perfect Lip balm/ Chapstick?
Eight Hour Creme by Elizabeth Arden - apply a thick layer on your lips before you go to sleep - it works wonders! The Perfect Lip balm/ Chapstick?
I don't like the lip balms with menthol. I prefer ';Lizard Lips'; - beeswax and cocoa butter are the main ingredients, and it even tastes pretty good :)
use vasaline protroleum jelly .. that works better and it can be unscented and flavorless
    Burt's Bees is awesome!!

    so is Carmex
The lip balm i like the best i haven't been able to find in a long long time it was called Lip Flavors it was by Sweet Breath. If you can find it let me know. Lately I found Lip Vitamins lip balm i got it at Walmart it was on one of the end of the isles. Anything with bees wax is usually great.

Drink alot of water but give it a few days if you drink alot of water one day it isn't going to show in your lips and skin for a few days.

Also in the winter houses tend to get very dry and can have a major effect on your skin and lips. Get a humidifier and run it at night in your bedroom.

Lip Balm and chapstick are only a temporary fix, being well hydrated will fix the root of the problem.

    I hope this helps
Nivea makes a lip balm now. It doesn't tingle and I find that it works just as well as something like Blistex Lip Medex.

Also try vaseline... a ton of people I know recommend that over anything else.
I don't like Burts Bees still, it smells weird and yup it does tingle!!

I like any lip balm from Bath and Body Works. There is a really good one called ';Einstein Lip Theory';, i really recomend it and it costs around $3.50.

Another one I like from B+BW is from their Spa range, and it is Shea butter. It costs around $4.00 and its superb.

I hope this solves your problem. If it gets bad, go to the Pharmacy at CVS, and they will rec. something
You cant go wrong with Vaseline, its cheap and works wonders for your lips, you can also use it at night on your eyelashes (a bit) it keeps them conditioned.
You should try exfoliating your lips with a soft-bristle toothbrush or damp washcloth before applying lipbalm.

My favorite lipgbalms are Philosphy Kiss Me and Smith's Rosebud Salve but I don't think those are really the texture you're looking for!
Petroleum jelly works really well. And if you have a little extra to spend a product from the Signature A Club on the Home Shopping Network works really really well for me. It's called Full, Fuller, Fullest single dose lip plumpers. It is to be applied especially at night. It doesn't plump as much as it just feels wonderful. I really love it!
I have to agree w/several other people who've answered this question...vaseline petroleum jelly before bed works really well. I also like Burt's Bees and Rosebud Salve but although they're more appealing, Vaseline seems to work better. Plus, it's dirt cheap!
I use medicated Blistex it works well for me....I've heard of people putting on Vicks Vapor Rub on extremely cracked lips as well.....The object is to apply it several times a day and right before you go to bed.....If these suggestions don't work, you might want to see a Doctor.
burts bees lipbalm is good also u can prepare that in home itself.

Apply butter to ur lips, u will get soft and glow lips forever
    Mary Kay Satin Lips
The Mary Kay Satin Lips set will take care of the problem! You just use the Lip Mask two or three times a week to exfoliate the dead skin cells off your lips and then use the Lip Balm for sure after using the Lip Mask, and then as much as needed.

  • Swollen Lip from Chapstick?

Last night i found some really good chapstick, so i put it on. Well when i woke up this morning, my top lip was REALLY swollen, and it looks really bad.

i've put some ice on it, but what else can i do to get it to go down some? i have a family reunion later today, and i dont want to look like this.

    Thanks!Swollen Lip from Chapstick?
OATMEAL!that should do it.just rub alittle on your lips.

Hope that helps!Swollen Lip from Chapstick?
Ice makes it numb which makes it swollen so takes some over the counter medicine and it will probley go down! Also it could been a allergic reaction in the chapstick so take a allergic reaction pill! I'm not sure what type of allergic reaction pills they have but go to a pharmacist and ask them also stop using ice trust me.
try taking some advil or tylonal but keep the ice on it!

Whats the best chapstick/ lip balm you use for damaged lips?

    vaseline works great

    so does burts bees

    and neutrogena
I use Carmex when my lips get dry.Hope it helps.
    feces
I use Blistex (but it doesn't last that long) you should use Vaseline
Burts bees :D i love that stuff
carmex is the best on the market i luv the stuff i have like 10 in my house.
    neutrogena

    vanilla lip balm

theres alot of different kinds, but this one is for chapped or damaged lips, and it repairs them over night

you can get it at wal-mart in the beauty section
Bath %26amp; Body works has the best stuff for this!

The beeswax lipgloss helps so much! I use it every day and my lips are smooth and nice- even when it's cold out, that stuff helps them from getting chapped.

Also, I use this stuff from Sephora that prevents lips from chapping %26amp; sun damage.

You can get simple stuff at CVS that will help- no problem

    Good luck

    ( :
Burt's Bees honey flavor. Put it on before bed and in the morning your lips will feel great.
A week ago my lips were peeling because they were so dry. Anyway, I used this chapstick my company gave to us. It doesn't have a name but it has Octinoxate (7.5%) and Oxybenzone (3%) as the active ingredients. It also has organic palm oil, beeswas, virgin olive oil, flavor, organic hemp seed oil, vitamin E, rosemary extract, comfrey, calendula, St. John's wort. It was SPF-15 and it had a mango flavor to it. Anyway, I know you can get the same thing in different flavors because I've seen it.

Anyway, I used it every few hours for about 2 days and my lips healed. I tried not to pick at them and I think that helps too. Anyway, I would try a health food store first and see if they's carry something like that since alot of the ingredients are organic. Or you can try the natural health section in a regular grocery or drug store.
    Vaseline?

    normally works

Are lips better off without chapstick, lip balm etc..?

well i noticed that wen i apply chapsick and other lip balms my lips r soft and healthy looking but if i dont apply it my lips get dry n start 2 chap. am i better off by just letting them heal on their own nd just drink more water? cause i herd that water helps hydrate them and keep them good and i herd tht sometimes lips can get addicted to lipbalms and depend on them all the time nd they get all dried and chapped wen not applied. so please anser my question thnks =]Are lips better off without chapstick, lip balm etc..?
just let them heal on their one. I heard today that if you apply chapstick, lipgloss, etc. that it attracts the sun's ray and the UV rays.

so your better off without them. hope i helped(:Are lips better off without chapstick, lip balm etc..?
Vaseline is actually much better at keeping lips soft than chapstick, and either chapstick or (I highly reccomend) vaseline is much better than lips alone. Make sure to apply vaseline before you go to bed, and you will wake up with softer lips, like a repeated overnight treatment with 8 hours of benefit.

Drinking lots of water helps with everything ^__^ Skin and acne, complexion, weight loss, and hydration for hair and lips.
Drinking water is good, but licking your lips a lot can make them chapped as wet from water without drying your lips will dry them out. Now a chap stick is good and it does no harm to wear it all the time. I prefer a lip gloss and they make conditioners for lips also that go on very smooth like a soft chap stick %26amp; you can put that under your lipstick if you wear lipstick.
First of, everybody could drink more water.

So that won't hurt you, Lol!

And if your lips are chappy, you should definently put on chapstick or something medicated. And I suggest putting chapstick on your lips and then put your lip color, or lip balm on top of that. This will keep your lips nice and smooth.
Yes! It would be better to stop using lip balms/ chap sticks! Your lips will go through a dry stage that lasts about a week, but then you'll only ever have to apply chap stick in the winter when your lips are actually dried out. Whatever you do don't continue to apply it every 20 minutes for 6 years.........like I did. My lips are now dependent on chap stick, it's like an addiction. People laugh at me when I say that but it's true! And quite sad for me cos I have to buy a new chap stick evey 10 days.
You can't get addicted to lip balms. That's an urban myth. If your lips feel chapped, go ahead and slather on some lip balm. Drink more water, also. You should aim to get 48 to 64 ounces of water per day (or 6-8 8oz. glasses).
dont lick your lips , that makes them more chapped .

put vasilene on them before bed .

dont apply lip gloss untill the chappness is gone

and apply plenty of carmex =)
well wearing too much chapstick can actually dry your lips till u get dependent on them!!!

just let them relax for a while:)
water def helps and for me vaseline is the best for my dry lips

    Addicted to chapstick/lip balm?

A few months ago my father commented on the excessive use of chap stick and told me I can become reliant on it. I didn't believe him until I tried to stop using it and my lips were so dry, they stung. If I loose my chap stick I freak out cos all I can think about is how dry my lips are.

This must sound like I'm a nutter or a hypochondriac but its driving me mental. if I just stop using it how ling will it take for my lips to make their own moisture again? Will they ever?

Does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do?

thank you xAddicted to chapstick/lip balm?
My boyfriend constantly makes fun of me about my lip balm addiction. There's even a website called Lip balm's Anonymous or something of that sort.

But chap sticks/lip balms cannot be harmful, but some do fool you. The menthol and mint tingling you feel from certain products actually dry out your lips more. It's just the cool feeling you get that makes you think it's working.

There's no problem with using lip care products, but if you want to stop, that's also fine. If you get the natural moisture back, try drinking more water. It's a naturally hydrating and does wonders for your body.Addicted to chapstick/lip balm?
You're not addicted. U just have naturally dry lips like me. I can't live without lip balm too. I feel naked without it actually.

there is no need to stop using lip balm. it doesnt hurt your body. since u have dry lips, all the more u should keep using!

there might be external factors worsening your condition, and that might be excessive licking of the lips, hot and dry weather, etc. Saliva actually dries your lips more after it evaporates from your lips. if u have this habit, make an effort to change it.

your dry lips condition is not likely to change. u can only provide them the extra moisture they need, and that is lip balm! there is nothing wrong/crazy about that!
i do the same thing at school and these jerks in my class told everyone i ate chap stick which wasn't true i just needed it on my lips. Here is what i think all those people who made fun of me will look back and be like i wish i was hannah because they will have ugly lips and i will have smooth perfect lips. To me its nothing 2 be ashamed of. Since i am 13 i can now wear makeup so i will use lip gloss instead.Anyways i also have a vaseline next to my bed in case i have chapped lips at night.
I understand where you are coming from because I am like that with my lipgloss. If I don't have on my lipgloss i won't feel right, and my lips will feel dry. I love to have my lips very glossy its more appealing to me. Be proud of liking your chapstick but don't let it take over you.
Well if you're all freaked out about people seeing you use chapstick, you can buy some lip balm that you put on when you go to bed. And then the next day when you wake up it should feel moisturized for a day.
I can only tell you that I dealt with the same issue in the past...it isn't any fun that is for sure :(

I just stopped using it and increased my water intake and they somehow healed back to normal.
Well, it's not good that your lips before dry and sting, but if you just cut down and put it on in the mornings or before bed I think you'll be fine.

    Good luck!

    ;)
This is actually something thats been known to happen, there are internet support groups for this. Discuss it with your doctor
LMAO i have that addiction now.. it sounds really dumb but it can happen! i haven't tried not using it .. idk what would happen
    driiiiiiiiiiiiiink water.
i have been accused of that too. try and slow down your use. that helped me.
Its will take a few weeks.

    I luffles chap stick.
i have the same problem, i say, forget ur dad! if u wanna use chapstick all the time go for it! it's really that bad!
just keep using it, its cant hurt you!
    You are NOT a nutter.

I did this to myself unknowingly as well. I found a new flavor the b/f loved and wore it constantly which although it upped my spontaneous kiss for no good reason ratio, it really did make my lips addicted to the balm. I searched for info all over the web about how to undo this bizzarre damage. I found nothing, so this is what I did I hope it works for you.

You feel like and addict right?

As silly as it sounds you are, I was, and so are a million others. No matter how ridiculous it seems (I was embarrassed myself, :-P), it is an addiction plain and simple to your body. Your body figures, ';Hell if she's gonna do it for me, why should I do it anymore? You have to fix it like any other addiction.

    Weening yourself.

It's miserable I can tell you that, I almost gave up a billion times because I am the compulsive lip licker when my lips are chapped or dry which in the end only makes them worse I thought my lips would eventually crack to pieces and fall off but surprisingly they didn't. I started by limiting how often I let myself put it on, and stuck to that schedule. Whilst I was addicted I found myself putting it on every 15 minutes or so, just to make sure they never got even the slightest bit dry, I also got phsically addicted to the feeling of that slick wax coating. So to start I linited myself to 1 application every hour on the hour. The first week was hell, I was watching the clock waiting for my next fix every 1/2 and hour I knew it was time only to be shocked I had to wait another 1/2 hour. Yet after that first week I started getting back to me, getting caught up in work and forgetting to apply. When I noticed this happening I limited myself to every two hours. Week by week I applied less and less. It took approximately 3 months for me to get my lips back in the condition they were before the balm addiction, but I am sooo thankful I did it. I still use balm now and then when I have a serious dry lip problem or I want to feel a bit sexy or polished, but I make sure I use it once and put it away. In a world with so many possible addictions, I am just happy I got passed this one, it's harder then it ever seemed it would be.

Don't be embarrassed, dont' feel silly, it's a live and learn thing. I'm just happy I went through this so I could help someone else, at least I hope this helps.

    Good Luck.

What's your favorite kind of lip balm/chapstick? just want 2 know?

what flavor is it? what band? were can you get it and what do u like about it?

PS. mine is dr pepper by smackers. i like it b/c it gives ur lips a red tint. you can get in every were (alco, wal-mart, cvs etc...)What's your favorite kind of lip balm/chapstick? just want 2 know?
I love softlips. I use the cherry flavor for every day wear and the tinted one for when I go out. It makes my lips cold and tingly which feels cool. And it makes them all soft and kissableWhat's your favorite kind of lip balm/chapstick? just want 2 know?
    Softlips .

For the organic line I like: Pure pomegranate. It smells heavenly lol.

For the flavors Iine I like: Raspberry, yum.

For the tinted lip conditioners line I like: Rose, gorgeous color

My favorite out of all their flavors is Rose for the color and smell.

You can get softlips at Target at where you line up by the register. They have several flavors there.

And they even have quizzes on the website, give it a go!

Clinqiue's All About Lips. It doesn't leave my lips feeling waxy, nor does it have that alchohol/menthol smell. And when my lips are really dry, I can put it on, give it a few mintues, and apply more. It really works well for me. I keep a tube in the pocket of each of my winter jackets and in my glove box!
my favorite chapstick is...the brand 'chapstick' i like the original

my favorite lipgloss is bath and body works 'limeade' mmm yummy!=D

Something that won't dry out my lips after a short period of time. What is the best lip balm/chapstick?
    carmax

What is the best lip balm/chapstick?
I use 4 brands depending on my need:

-Vaseline (not the petroleum jelly, but there is one that comes in a green and white pot and is specifically fro Lips) -- effective during winter, hot summers and the like.

    - chap stick, for everyday use, with no specific need, when am in the house or just to keep my lips moisturized.

    - neutrogena - when i go to the beach it has SPF

-nivea rose lip balm - has a hint of color; for days when I have very little make-up on, but need a hint of color.

*all of them, when applied don't look like i had being kissing a greasy pan.
A few of the best lip balms out there that will give your lips hydration without having you have to apply over and over again are: Murad Soothing Lip Repair, Qtica Intense Lip Repair Balm, and the Skyn Iceland Angelica Lip Repair. Visit www.kristybeauty.com to purchase or for more information (free shipping for orders over $50)
Softlips is really the best. It feels like your lips are instantly healing when you put it on. Its such a smooth feeling and it keeps your lips moist for a long time in between applications.
SUN, from AVON, it has an SPF of 12, and its VERY moirturizing, if you atch it at the right time it can be as cheap as 99c a stick, hope this helps
vanilla softlips. it's cheap, amazinly moisturizing, and tastes/smells amazing! you can find it at cvs or wlagreens.
    burt's bees!!

    tingly peppermint goodness :]

get it at bath %26amp; body works, target, walmart, etc.
i use lip smackers, and chapstick, and neutrogena,

    all work great!
This regular chap stick is great moisturizer and won't leave your lips dry in the winter! http://www.chapstick.com/classic/index.asp
    Vaseline Petroleum Jelly or Chapblock.
burts bees is my favorite and works great. just don't use anything with menthol in it.
blistex or medicated chapstick the original brand
burts bees or anything with cocoa butter in it.
Definitely Carmex. Or just use plain Vaseline...
    burts bees.
the plain ones like Vaseline and the Nivea lip balms

Try Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer. It has PABA-free sunscreen protection, SPF 15, %26amp; you don't have to keep re-applying it. I've used it for years. It has no taste, no smell, %26amp; it doesn't make you break out. What is the best MOISTURIZING lip balm/chapstick for intensly DRY lips?
I love Arbonne chapstick - you have to buy it through a consultant or online though. It's around $8, but it is THE best chapstick I've ever used.

I also absolutley am addicted to Aquafina Flavorsplash chapstick - you can find it at Wal-Mart or any drugstores.

I also love SoftLips - it has menthol so it really soothes %26amp; smoothes lips, you can get it at drugstores.
BLISTEX!!moisturizes immediately!!..or VASELINE..both are inexpensive and are ur solution :)
chapstick lipmoisturizer w/spf 15 during the day and vasaline at night
Prada Shielding Balm $38- Thick, highly emollien balm loaded with shea butter. It contains sunscren ilter to soften the lips but also protect from UVA an UVB rays. You can get it at Neiman Marcus, Barneys New York, Saks Fifth Avenue, or neimanmarcus.com

Burt's Bees is awesome you can buy it plain or you can get it in colors, you can purchase it at most stores or at burtsbees.com its $3-$4
    Vaseline
Blistex or Carmex is a really good brand to heal dry lips and to keep it protected.
you can't beat the good old original cherry chapstick! plus it smells amazing =] the cherry carmex is good too, and vaseline or aquaphor is an awesome quick fix. good luck!
BURTS BEE'S! where i live the air can get really dry, and dry out your lips skin, everything. It is the best chapstick i've ever used (and they're other products are great too!).

nivea has some great lip balms

    including their SOS lip balm

    it is AMAZING

also aveeno makes a great lipbalm available at walmart and target
There a few really great and quite inespensive ones out there. My favorites are the Burt's Bees Beeswax lipbalm (that one also contains peppermint and mint extracts to cool and soothe lips as well as moisturize them and freshen breath). I also love the Bonne Bell Lipsmackers in all colors and flavors but particularly Vanilla and Dr. Pepper shades, the Alba Botanica coconut lip balm and the Burt's Bees Strawberry Lip Gloss (it's really hydrating and has a great smell and taste with no color in a clear, glossy shiny finish).

    Hope that helps!

What do you think of Lip -Smacker Chapstick?

Childish or cute? Moisturizing or waxy? What do you think of Lip -Smacker Chapstick?
It has been a long time since I've used it, so I don't remember how it felt. Chapstick is basically chapstick, so if people like the flavor even adults will use the lip-smacker kinds without caring if it is ';childish or cute';.

Personally I avoid things with certain chemicals/ingredients, so I use things like Burt's Bees and other natural/organic products.

The Safe Shoppers Bible lists chemicals in every area of life and how they can adversely affect your health...like cancer, Alzheimer's, etc.

Your favorite lip balm? Burt's Bees, Alba, Chapstick, Soft Lips?

I'm currently looking for a really good lip balm that moisturizes, hydrates, softens, and is overall just good for your lips. So in your opinion, which lip balm is your favorite that you've tried?

    Answers are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!Your favorite lip balm? Burt's Bees, Alba, Chapstick, Soft Lips?
    Personally,I love BonneBell's LipSmackers collection.

But,for the type you're looking for,the best ones are.....

Carmex (especially in the little white pots with the yellow lids)

Blistex DCT (in the peachy colored pots)

Medicated ChapStick (pale-blue wrapper on a white tube)Your favorite lip balm? Burt's Bees, Alba, Chapstick, Soft Lips?
I'm currently loving Strawberry Chapstick. It's smooth, moisturizing and smells good. There's a little bit of SPF in it, but you'd need more sunscreen if you're out hiking or something. I used Burt's Bees original (the minty kind) for a while, but it wasn't very easy to put on, it was very solid. The Pomegranate Burt's Bees is a lot smoother. I used Natural Ice and Soft Lips, but I've found that products with Mentholatum (which makes the cooling sensation (Burt's Bees does this with mint)) just make my lips hurt and chapped. I had to keep reapplying products with Mentholatum more frequently. I also like the Vaseline lip products; they're very minimalistic so if you have sensitive or very dry or wind chapped skin, it's a good bet.
Burt's Bees is absolutely my number 1. It's organic, smells great, works amazingly, isn't sticky, is cheap, you can get it almost anywhere, leaves lips smooth and soft, and has many forms: in a tin, in a regular tube... It also has great flavors: original (minty), pomegranate oil (leaves a rosy tint), and passion fruit (SPF 8). Carmex is pretty good, too, but it's not organic and just doesn't have as much variety. Chapstick is a classic, but not the best. Soft Lips and Alba....well...they suck.
Burts Bees. I love them. AND, they don`t test on animals, which is nice. :)

    The Pros

-Burts Bees is a well known established company which focuses on the needs of skin care.

-The products are said to be made of all natural botanicals.

    The Cons

-There are no before and after photos on the Burts Bees website.

-There is no clinical research to substantiate the products claims.

That is from a professional website that wrote a reveiw. So, if you have no care for before and after photos and proven clinical research, then you are just fine.
I have all three and love them in each special way.

Chapstick - I usually buy this in Strawberry or Cherry because it gives me a subtle tint of color on my lips while it moisturizes :)

Softlips - I love the cooling sensation when I use this but I feel this product is a bit cheap because when I twist it back down to close it, its like stuck in place and I have to use my hand to push it down. Either I got a bad one or something...

Burts Bee - They're really good, I like that they're natural so thats a plus.
All of the lipbalms in your question are supposed to be very good!! But my lips get more dry and more chapped than most peoples, and so those brands dont work for me. They seem to have no effect for me. The only lip balm I found that works for me is nives repair and protect. It really is the best product, and saved my life!!!! Im sure you'd love it :)

TIP - Before applying lip balm, brush your lips gently with a wet toothbrush to get rid of flakey bits, and make lips softer

    Hope I helped!! :)
MAC's lip conditioner. Most people look at it and think it's too expencive, but it is absolutley worth the money and it lasts forever. other chapsticks you have to apply all the time to get the same softness as you do with MAC's.

    Hope I helped:)
    Ever tried Natural Ice?

It's amazing!!!! It has this awesome cooling sensation when you put it on, and if you get the cherry kind it tastes kinda good. And it stays on, and it works WONDERS for chapped lips.
    Soft Lips all the way!
I LOVE LOVE soft lips for a cheap alternative.

but my favorite favorite splurge.. i love to used macs lip tinted conditioners. they are amazing.
Probably either burt's bees or blistex.

Both are amazing and make my lips feels so soft! and I like the waxy feeling it gives off too. you should definitely try these ones! :)

I've noticed that whenever I put on chapstick, the guy I've been hanging out w. puts on lip balm right after?

What's up with that?I've noticed that whenever I put on chapstick, the guy I've been hanging out w. puts on lip balm right after?
Well he either wants a kiss or well you have trained him to do that. im in psycholigy class and well we can train people to do certain stuff when we just do something so probably you got him doing that. cause thats what it sounds like it. I've noticed that whenever I put on chapstick, the guy I've been hanging out w. puts on lip balm right after?
There's something very subconscious about that. If you lick your lips or even just say something about licking lips, it's very likely that whomever you are with will subconsciously do that action.

There's one girl I work with that puts on chap stick every three minutes. Every time she does, I do it right afterwords, completely subconsciously.
lol, guys prolly just dont even think about it til they remeber when they see us do it. but i must say, i've never seen a guy put chapstick on that doesn't look a little ';odd';. guys, you should just do that when you get in your car or go to take a leak o.O
He might fancy you, Sometimes when someone likes a person they will copy their actions, According to body language experts anyways its called mirroring. Or your just reminding him to soften his lips too lol
he probably thinks that you are looking at his lips and seeing that his lips are chapped, so yours might be and when he sees that you are putting on your chap stick after you look at his lips then his might be chapped.
He's either mocking you, trying to bug you, or likes you so much that he must do what you do........love is weird..in a good way.^.^
Its either a huge coincedence, or hes thinking of doing somthing completely different
why does it matter, just a coincidence maybe.
So when you kiss this guy you're hanging out with, he gets a mouth full of chapstick.

    ERRRRR..!!!!
You reminded him to put on some chap stick.
Imitation is the best form of flattery. You two must really be in sync!
you got them excited when you put that on because They think you both are about to kiss
either he wants 2 kiss u, or u remind him 2 fix his dry lips.
I think you know what he's thinking! ;)
they are messing with you or something

he wants to kiss you :P
who knows maybe he want to kiss u

Does kissing bare lips and lips with chapstick on feel different?

if so, what are the differences between them and which do you prefer?Does kissing bare lips and lips with chapstick on feel different?
Try both and find out.Does kissing bare lips and lips with chapstick on feel different?
It doesn't matter . . . I can't think of the last time I remembered to put chapstick on before I kissed a guy. Just be sure to lick your lips first so they aren't dry . . .

    Don't worry about the chapstick.
I've never noticed a difference. It's fine either way as long as the chapstick isn't too stinky or too glossy for the guy
Kiss the soft underpart of your arm with and without chapstick and you'll see.
Kissing chapstick lips is slipperier and a bit more risque', woo woo.
in my opinion i think with chapstick its way smoother.
Yes, and it depends on the lips.

How should I treat 2nd degree burns on my lips? Will chapstick help?

The doctor gave me Silver Sulfadaine for the burns on the outside of my face but didnt tell me how to treat my lips. They are very hard and cracking any time I move them (ie to eat) The swelling has gone down but they are still very red/black under the hard casing. Can I use chapstick to keep them softer while healing or is this bad?How should I treat 2nd degree burns on my lips? Will chapstick help?
I would stick with the Silver Sulfadine and maybe aloe. Better check with the doctor though. I definitely wouldn't put chap stick on them without checking first. It is so thick and waxy. How should I treat 2nd degree burns on my lips? Will chapstick help?
Without checking with your doc, I would not use ANYTHING with any kinds of chemicals in it- no Chapstick, no Vaseline, no whipped cream, no Aloe Vera, etc. Too many chemicals can actual inhibit the healing of the tender tissues.

It is never a good idea to put was, grease, oil, petroleum, etc. on burns without a doctors orders anyway- the stuff traps in heat and is not good for new tissue.

Ask your doctor's office or nurse.
    Chapstick helps everything. Seriously.
You can vaslen on it .......
Try using heavy whipping cream from the grocers dairy case. My friend tried this and she didn't have any scarring afterwards. Good luck. P.S. make sure the cream is liquid form not cool whip but in milk like container.

Vasoline, blistix, neosporin, bag balm especially put on before bed.

I use C.O. Bigelow lip glosses from Bath and Body Works. They smell and taste great! Just know that a little goes a very very long way. If you put on the same amount that you'd use of a regular lip gloss, it's WAY too sticky and goopy. But if you put on a little tiny bit at a time, they're great!

I love the lime mint lip shine, the pink mint lip shine, and the pink grapefruit one!
I have to agree singgoddess Burts bees Honey and also Burts bees pomegranate.

I also like Badgers Sweet Orange.
I love Burts Bees. They're all great, but the Pomagranite one is really fantastic tasting, and doesn't get sticky!
    nivea.

    covergirl wetslicks.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Beauty Rush lip glosses from Victoria Secrets. its a lil sticky, but stays on all day and smells delicious!
bath and body works has a great line of minty and chocolate lip glosses

    Lip balm / chapstick?

my lips are always really dry unless i out on chapstick of the above on them constantly..

how can i beat putting it on and get my lips back to normal?

if i dont put it on i begin to lick my lips and that gets them realy sore!

if anyone can help me that would be great!

    thanksLip balm / chapstick?
You should try the regular Carmex in the little tub. It tastes bad so you won't lick it off, but it does the job by replenishing your lips and leaving a pleasant, cold tingle. It also fights against future chapped lips and cold sores.

Punky - Carmex is also used to heal chapped lips. I am recommending it because it doesn't have a very pleasant taste, so she won't be licking it off like she had said. She isn't looking for something yummy, she's looking to heal her lips and I don't blame her. Vaseline is actually what makes chapped lips worse because it's a BARRIER, not a moisturizer. Read a label sometime. It's Burt's Bees*, btw, which also has a tendency to be drying even though it's excellent if you're an avid reapplyer.

Quoted right from the Carmex container: ';CARMEX - For Cold Sores ...

Use Carmex for COLD SORES, FEVER BLISTERS, and CHAPPED LIPS. Apply evenly to affected parts.';Lip balm / chapstick?
    CARMEX CARMEX IT REALLY WORKS
vaseline or Burt's Bees (work the best)

you cant beat not putting it on if you want your lips back to normal. dont get a flavoured kind because you'll always lick it off lol, and get something a bit oily so its somewhat water resistant.
DO NOT USE CARMEX. It will dry out your lips, not moisturize. It was invented to be used to dry out cold sores, not to moisturize lips. Use something with natural ingredients. I use Bert's Bee's and is a favorite among many friends and family. The original even has the tingle sensation that people love about Carmex, just not the habit forming horribleness.
Burts Bees Lip Balm ...it's great

BUT you need to stop licking them. Your salava is what causes chapped lips.

How can I stop NEEDING chapstick, lip balm, etc.?

  • Is it true that using chapstick/lip balm makes your lips stop producing it's own oils?

How to cure chapped lips without chapstick or carmex?

I don't have anything to help and I've had chapped lips for the past few days and it's killing me! What do I do?How to cure chapped lips without chapstick or carmex?
put some vaseline or anything oily really on your lips and then run your toothbrush under warm water(until the bristles are soft) and gently brush your lips with the toothbrush. This helps alot. After that, apply more vaseline. How to cure chapped lips without chapstick or carmex?
try lotion or meat fat or margarine. All is greasy and will help.
    Have any vaseline?

put that on your lips it helps. What my mom used to use on me when we didn't ahve xhapstick
Vaseline. That's it. Put it on b 4 bed and let it soak. Use the one in the jar, NOT the little tube.
you will need something to put on your lips. vasaline, unscented body lotion will work. above all do not lick your lips

What's the best stuff to prevent/help chapped lips, chapstick, carmax, burt's bees, etc?

just put Vaseline on at night and in the mornings that way no one has to see it but you. But during the day plain 'ol chapstick works pretty well. What's the best stuff to prevent/help chapped lips, chapstick, carmax, burt's bees, etc?
Vaseline is the best product. Get a mini jar and keep in your purse or car. Try to prevent licking your lips and don't forget to use it ever night before you go to bed!

    Swollen Lip from Chapstick?

Does lip balm/chapstick contain calories? I am not eating it, just applying to lips. Just wanted to know.?

i think you are eating it...beacause i used too..lolDoes lip balm/chapstick contain calories? I am not eating it, just applying to lips. Just wanted to know.?
No. The only way it could have calories is if you were suppose to eat it.

Chapstick is like a medication for your lips.

I hope I explained this well.Does lip balm/chapstick contain calories? I am not eating it, just applying to lips. Just wanted to know.?
No, I just looked online and it said that licking your lip gloss is actually a good way to loose weight. So I guess that means it has no calories. I think that's weird though.
    Why would it have calories?

    Im pretty sure it doesnt.
    No.

  • Do you wear chapstick/lip balm/lip gloss everyday?

like even when you are just chillin at home?

what brands?!?!Do you wear chapstick/lip balm/lip gloss everyday?
I don't really need it, and usually not when i'm at home even when I do use it.

Chapstick/balm-occasionally, I like Burts Bees, regular Chapstick brand and a really yummy Dr. Pepper one.

I almost never use Lip Balm as I find it messy, and it always gets in my hair, plus I already have a nice lip color and dont really need it =)Do you wear chapstick/lip balm/lip gloss everyday?
I used lip balm since I was a young child. It's been many many years and I still can't go without applying some lip balm or gloss on my lips several times a day! It's like an addiction for me because my lips start to hurt without applying something on 'em.
(smackers, vaseline, hersheys) lip balm at home and (victorias secret, cliniqe, bath and body) lipgloss everywhere else. i cant survive the day without anything on my lips anymore.
due vasaline is dooooope i always use th lil purse size it ALWAYS keeps your lips moisturized put some on at night and by morning they'll be soooooo soft well thats one of my lil beauty tricks good luck
Nah, not all the time. But then again I'm pretty lazy.

I wear Lip Smacker Watermelon. I love the smell. Hate the taste.
well like chapstick becuase i can't stand chapped lips..but i wear lipgloss too if i can't find my chapsticks...i like este lauder lip glosses there really good smelling and tasty

And I think maybaline is really good..
chap stick! not any special brand just what i can find.

Can you use chapstick when your lip is still healing from a piercing?

Use Neosporin around the wound site and chapstick on the rest of your lips, sure. Can you use chapstick when your lip is still healing from a piercing?
yup, just make sure it isnt really scented or strong. Just use Mint flavour, no fruity or vanilla flavors, those will burn.

My boyfriend always used mint chapstick while his piercing was healing, and it was ok.Can you use chapstick when your lip is still healing from a piercing?
yes u can my father owns the company and he says sooo
I wouldnt. I would wait until the piercing is completley healed, because lip piercings are very difficult to have heal .

How to cure chapped lips (without chapstick or any medicines)?

I'm in Argentina and have horribly chapped lips but they don't have any chapstick where I'm staying! I'm going to buy some tomorrow when the store opens but until then what can I do? I heard adding butter works. How to cure chapped lips (without chapstick or any medicines)?
careful not to taste it, but lotion is helpful if you have nothing else. How to cure chapped lips (without chapstick or any medicines)?
First, moistureize your lips. Drink some water, or put some to your lips. Just enough to keep them from cracking. Next, and some kind of oil based substance to them after they finish drying. This will keep the water from escaping. Butter, cooking oil, margerine, or even grease works.

BTW, grease tastes gross on lips, but make do with what you have!
    vasaline
    butter works.

Aquaphor Healing Ointment or Neosporin lip treatment. What is the best MOISTURIZING lip treatment/balm/chapstick for severely DRY lips?
The absolute best is Mary Kay's ';Satin Lips'; It comes with a Lip Mask (which buffs away dead dry skin) and then a lip balm that has vitamins A %26amp; E. Gives you sexy soft lips. I LOVE IT!! It's great for both men and women.

Find it at www.marykay.com/madams6873What is the best MOISTURIZING lip treatment/balm/chapstick for severely DRY lips?
vaseline lip therapy....thats the only thing what im not allergic to. it only has one ingredient
    blue blistex works pretty good.
Burt's Bees is thebest to me..the honey one makes my lips very moist....and Clinique has a lip moisturizer that is pretty good-
I love the one made of beeswax by Burts Bees
I just use the Chapstick brand and it works just fine. :)
    Vaseline (petroleum jelly)
BURTS BEE'S! It's the best ever! carmex is pretty good too.

    http://www.burtsbees.com/webapp/wcs/stor鈥?/a>
    the blue tub of blistex
carmex. i use it every day and i absolutly love it. its only like $1 at walmart
Aquaphor Lip and body treatment. It is in a white tube, you can find it at Target or basically any grocery store. It is sort of like Vaseline but much better. When I was on a medication that made my lips severly dry, I used this daily. It will make your lips silky and soft. I cannot say enough how well this works.
Burts Bees is great, but vaseline also works pretty well.
okay. carmex might not smell the best or anything.

but for me it works extremely well.

if you feel it burn its not really burning. its working.
I know a lot of people that like using blistex or Carmex but I personally like using either vaseline or cherry flavored chapstick. In the winter when my lips peel I always keep a stick of cherry chapstick. You have to but it on religiously. Apply and reapply...Good Luck!!!
I would suggest Chap Ice. It is really good, as soon as you put it on, you can fell it mousturizing and helping your lips become less chapped. It actually does feel like ice on your lips! Try it!

You can find it at your local drugstore... most likely. If not, try this link:

    http://www.epinions.com/OraLabs_Chap_Ice鈥?/a>

It'll tell you all you need to know, and it will hopefully give you a cheap price on it!

    Burt's Bees is simply amazing!
I use to get chapped lips all the time, to the point where they would bleed when I smiled. I use Burt's Beeswax lip balm religiously, now, and I haven't had chapped lips since.
well they're all basically the same but here's a tip:

use a dry toothbrush to lightly buff the flakes of dry skin off your lips, then use your chapstick (i personally like burts bees stick).
    carmex for sure.
    Carmex
its this thing caleld bag balm. its originally for cows utters. (lmao, i know.) but now a lot of people use it just like vaseline. (its the same, only stronger.) i know they sell it at some drug stores, like cvs %26amp; rite aid.

and to make it work really well, put it on before you take a shower. the steam well help them get even more mositureized. :]
i use nivea repair lip balm

    it works great

just apply it every hour or so and your lips should be good in no time

    (its in a blue cover)
There is some stuff called PawPaw ointment, you can get it at the chemist/supermarket. Its in a red plastic jar and works wonders as it is a natural product. Its not expensive either. Good Luck!

    smackers..

Burt's Bees!!!! Bee's wax is a better lip barrior than parafen wax or petroliam. And it has peppermint to make the lips liven up. :)
*~*I love Burt's Bees lip balm with Pomegranate oil. It smells great, but it's not too fragrant, and it tastes sweet. This is the lip balm that I live by...in fact, whenever I run out, I buy 2 more!!! I'm addicted!!! Click on the link for more info. HTH!! ;) *~*
    Smacker, or Bonnie Bell.

It's pretty cheap as well! =)
there is aaaa lot. some that i've tried that i can recommend are:

    1. CO Bigelow Ultra Mentha lip products from Bath%26amp;Body Works

    2. Born Lippy Balms %26amp; Lip Butters from The Body Shop

    3. Kiss My Face Organic Lipbalm (sliced peach is real yummy)

    4. Burt Bee's Lipgloss in Cherry

    4. Bonnebelle Lipbalms in Asst. Flavors (of couse, an all tiem classic)

    5. BoBe Lipbalm in Asst. Flavors (LOTS of yummy ones)
';Lipsmackers'; were always a classic in that category!

';chapstick'; brand is waaaay too waxy

Burt's Bees Lip Balm (chapstick) or tin?

Honestly it seems like lots of people are telling me to get the original version of the product. Again, I have never used Burts Bees but lots of people around me are using it.

There seems to be two kinds: the one in a tube and one in a tin. The tin one has 2 times the amount the tube has. The price of either one are the same. Any suggestions?Burt's Bees Lip Balm (chapstick) or tin?
I'd go for the tin :)

The tin applies smoother I think, but everyone is different.

In these tough economic times, money matters so choose the tin which has more - they're both the same high quality product (go Burt's Bees!) and Kudos for making a cruelty free choice :)

All the best :)Burt's Bees Lip Balm (chapstick) or tin?
Well, it's I guess personal choice.

Some prefer tubes because it's more hygienic. Others are fine with the tins because it's still easy to apply and gives you a lot of product.

So if you are okay with the hygiene issues that some from placing your dirty finger into lip balm repeatedly, then buy that one lol.
    i like the honey.

i used the pomergranted and i didnot like it

%26amp; the shimmer kind was just toomuch

    i like just the regular.

    its natural.

%26amp; better for an everyday application.

    get the tube

it's so much more easier %26amp; its easy to leave allday in jeans.

the tin seems awkward to be carrryign around.
they do exactly the same thing just like you said one comes with more.. but you have to use your fingers to put it on which some people don't like to do. so based on your preferences it doesn't really matter either way.. i like the tube because i don't like getting chap stick all over my fingers. hope i helped!
The chap stick is more sanitary. I like to use the carmex, but when you use the tin, you're dipping your finger in it over and over. You should think of where your hands have been or may have touched and then your placing them to your lips.

I would do the chap stick.
the tube is soooo much better

it goes on much smoother, and makes lips softer

i've had both, and i much prefer the tube

P.S. do NOT get the pomegranate, or honey flavoured ones

they do not work nearly as well as the original
I hate the chapstick, had it once and it was so hard that it didn't even moisturize my lips.
  • loan
  • Chapstick, lip gloss, lip balm. Whats the difference? Which one is better?

Chapstick is used to prevent your lips from chapping;you don't use it on an everyday basis.

Lip gloss is more makeup;it's really only used to look good.

%26amp;Lip balm;is like little kid's lip gloss;p or at least that's what I think it is. I'm not totally sure.

Anyways;I like lip gloss the best because it looks really good on and gives your lips a pretty color and shimmer.(:

%26lt;3Chapstick, lip gloss, lip balm. Whats the difference? Which one is better?
chapstick is a kind of lip balm--the brand. lip gloss is...gloss. doesn't really medically help.Chapstick, lip gloss, lip balm. Whats the difference? Which one is better?
chapstick is like lip balm. lip gloss is more glossy. chapstick helps your lips feel better when they're all dry
    Chapstick heals chapped lips. (:

I like chapstick with gloss over it XD
chapstick! it heals your chapped lips (:

How do I relieve dry, chapped lips if chapstick isn't working?

The middle of my bottom lip is cracked %26amp; dry. It's very painful. Nothing is working. How do I relieve dry, chapped lips if chapstick isn't working?
You MAY be dehydrated. My lips are generally the most chapped if I haven't had enough WATER to drink. Hot decaf tea or decaf coffee or decaf ice tea works too if you don't like water. Since your lips are cracked, for me, I generally use a thin thin layer of neosporin.

Anyway, try drinking more hydrating liquids-not anything with caffeine, and not TOO much sugar. Preferably more water. How do I relieve dry, chapped lips if chapstick isn't working?
I've never found chapstick helps with dry lips in fact it makes my lips worse. A normal skin moisturizer works just as well. 8 hour cream if you can get it is excellent.

And also what vampire v has suggested. Lack of Vit c and also B can result in cracked lips.
Before you go to bed at night put some vasoline on your lips. It tastes bad, but do this for a few nights and you should be good. :)
Make sure you don't lick your lips at all, that's very drying to them. If you lightly scrub your lips with an old toothbrush and vaseline you can get most of the chapped stuff off. Then apply a stronger chapstick, I use Neutrogena brand, and whatever you do, don't lick it off!
neosporine came out with a wonderful lip balm you should give it a try good luck!
try to drink lots of water and eat fruits especial rich with vit c..like oranges
Bio oil or a hot shower.

This sounds strange but put while you're in the shower, put some hair conditioner on your lips, rub in, leave for 2 mins, and rinse off with the hot water

then put vaseline on when you come out the shower.
try Vaseline. my daughter had it so bad a few weeks ago that it was all around her mouth on the skin as well, and i didn't have Vaseline so i put neosporin on the skin around her mouth and on her lips , but i kept it from the closest part next to the inside of her mouth, and i told her to keep it out of her mouth, but she was going to sleep anyway, and when she woke up it was noticeably better. i think it's safe to use, no different than Vaseline, just try to keep out of your mouth.
i have a big problem with this because i a allergic to most chapsticks but one really worked for me. its called neutrogena for lips. i use the tub and the chapstick and they work very well. i also put moisturiser near my lips and this helps. good luck [=
vaseline!!!!!! amazing. also try burt's bees lip balm/chapstick and carmex.
First I would recommend hydrating by drinking the recommended 8 glasses of water a day. I think you need to wear a face mask when you go outside, take a warm shower instead of hot, and realize that the heater you are running is probably the cause of your face drying out. Vaseline will help and so will bacitracin if it is bleeding.
Try Bertsbees chapstick! its all natural, and its the best stuff out there!
sleep with vasaline on your lips every night (smother them! )
    Maybe try vaseline? Or bacitracin?
I use Aquaphor, nothing has worked as well for me, and I've tried a lot. You could also try Vaseline.

I like strawberry or cherry by ChapStick. Can be found in any drug store.

I keep it simple when it comes to lip balm.
Lip Medic in the blue pot.
blistex! it makes your lips soooo smooth
m%26amp;m... nott sure whatt it's calledd.(:

I'm not sure what type of allergic reaction pills they have but go to a pharmacist and ask them also stop using ice trust me.
try taking some advil or tylonal but keep the ice on it!

theres alot of different kinds, but this one is for chapped or damaged lips, and it repairs them over night

you can get it at wal-mart in the beauty section
